Do you remember when I told you about the heritage chicken breed program at the University of Alberta? Well, I decided that I really want to be a part of heritage breed preservation in my own coops. Heritage Birds coming…

I have purchased an egg incubator and made contact with the University of Saskatchewan. Where some heritage breeds are being maintained. I am excited to report that I have 64 eggs enroute to me in the coming weeks. And I can’t wait to make you a part of the journey of hatching and raising them! My contact, Dr. Karen Schwean-Lardner at the University of Saskatchewan has provided me with some great photos of the breed I’m looking forward to. I will keep you posted when the eggs arrive! Perhaps it’s time for you to consider changes with heritage birds coming.
